Willem de Haan thinks about himself as a prop maker. He makes props, just like in film and theatre. Only Willem’s props aren't fictional, they can be found in daily life. His passion started as a teenager, when his suburban surrounding didn't look anything like the culture he was consuming via magazines, music and the internet. So he just started making the clothing and films he felt were missing in the direct surroundings. His latest project is the construction of permanent tents built out of concrete and brick, much more durable their classic canvas brothers.
